When I first came home with this [zine](https://publish-01.obsidian.md/access/2111b9d225af06ee008da26e190adc1c/Attachments/2023-12-10%201.jpg), it looked like just another skateboarding photo. Like the posters in many other stores, many skateboard magazines did not provide any memorable information in my mind. So the cover photo was just an impression of a guy doing a jump on the Ramp, and the back cover was just a guy standing there with pads on. The only clue to deciphering the contents was the name Dan Wilkes. I found a Cover [Interview](https://youtu.be/na-VIdO3pV4?si=Qvyz46DtnUvrpW3y) created by Look Back Library, an organization that preserves skateboard magazines. It was a video project in which skateboarders who have graced the covers of old skateboarding magazines were asked to talk about what they were doing back then. Dan Wikes himself talked about the cover of Transworld Skateboarding Magazine. Photos of the skateboarding scene in Texas at the time. Among them, he talked about the Double Kneepad that he made by himself. A member of Team Tracker, Tracker made what is now called "old school" tracks, and a board with his name on it is on the market. I love this video, it really feels like a casual interview in a typical shopping mall. Back to the Zine, the cover is a photo of Dan Wilkes made Eggplant trick. I had never heard of this trick before, which is called Eggplant. >The trick "Eggplant" in skateboarding is a maneuver where the skater performs a handplant on the coping of a ramp or a pool, with their front hand grabbing The skater performs a handplant on the coping of a ramp or a pool, with their front hand grabbing the heel edge of the skateboard while their body rotates 180 degrees. I saw him cheering among the many audiences in the outdoor park on another films. I am convinced that his play still remains in the hearts of many people. It is understandable why collectors want Dan Wikes' ClassicBoard.
